Biography
Professor Jeong Woo (Jimmy) Kim teaches Public International Law, International Humanitarian Law, and Legal Research & Writing. His research focuses on the intersection of international law (especially its history and theory), religion, and war.

He currently serves as the executive editor of the Korean Journal of International and Comparative Law.

Prior to his current role, Professor Kim was an attorney-advisor for the U.S. Army, where he provided legal counsel to commanders and staff on a range of complex matters, including administrative investigations, regulatory compliance, fiscal law, government ethics, and the law of armed conflict.

He previously worked as a research fellow for the DILA (Development of International Law in Asia) Foundation and briefly clerked for the Honorable Tom Parker in the Supreme Court of Alabama.

Professor Kim holds a Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, where he completed his dissertation on the privilege of combatants to kill in war. He also earned an LL.M. from the Emory University School of Law, a J.D. (summa cum laude) from Handong International Law School, and a B.S. (magna cum laude) from the University of Maryland.
