2nd Round 2021 SPRING SPECIAL ADMISSION
Ⅰ. Application Schedule
1. Application Submission Period: ~ January 8, 2021
Ⅱ. Eligibility
To qualify for Special Admission, you must be a non-Korean national with both parents also being non-Korean nationals AND (1) possess a bachelor's degree from an approved four-year college or university or equivalent degree prior to commencing their studies at Handong International Law School; OR (2) be a non-Korean national and have received your elementary, middle school, high school, and university education entirely outside of Korea. (Korean citizens who hold dual citizenship are not eligible for Special Admission.)
Ⅲ. Admission Process
1. A complete application packet must be mailed to the following address by January 8, 2021; otherwise, your application may be denied.

2. Once your application packet is reviewed and screened, the HILS Administrative Office will contact you regarding further procedure. Most likely an interview will be scheduled for mid-January.

A candidate for Special Admission must complete and submit the following materials:

*at least one of which should be from a teacher or work supervisor

An official copy of University Transcript from each institution where a degree was earned

One copy of your University Diploma or Certificate of Pending Graduation
**If you have graduated from universities in the U.S., please attach Degree Verification from National Student Clearinghouse along with your copy of diploma.

One copy of your passport (picture and information pages)
G.
One copy of your parents’ passport (father’s and mother’s picture and information pages) or your parents’ identification cards (listing citizenship information)
H.
One copy of your birth certificate
I.
One copy of the bank statement from the individual who will be supporting the applicant’s legal education

Nonrefundable application fee of $100
*Fee may be paid by money order. Please contact our office for other payment options.

*TOEFL- IBT 80, PBT 600; TEPS 550; IELTS 5.5 or higher
All foreign candidates for admission who are not nationals of the following countries identified by the Korean Ministry of Education (the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa) MUST submit a valid English Test score. 
Ⅴ. Important Notes
  •     1. All of the above must be provided in English. Any non-English documents must be accompanied with a certified English translation.
    2. All of the documents must be mailed to HILS. E-mails or facsimiles will not be accepted.
    3. Falsifying any information or plagiarism on essays may result in denial of your application.
    4. Applying for both General Admission and Special Admission is not permitted.
    5. University transcripts, diplomas, or certificate of pending graduation must be official, meaning a proper stamp, seal, or signature must be affixed.
    6. If University transcripts, diplomas, or certificate of pending graduation is not written in English, it needs to be translated into English and notarized by the Korean embassy/consulate. Then, both the original document and the notarized English translation must be submitted.
    7. Use 4*5 color portrait picture for the application form.
    8. Write each essay around 500 words.
    9. One of recommendation letters should be from a teacher or work supervisor.
    10. Non-Korean nationals may be subject to a health screening on arrival at HILS.
    11. All Chinese Applicants must submit their Family Register (戶口簿).
  •     12. All certificates should be issued no longer than 6 months
