II. Eligibility

Applicants should possess or be in the process of possessing a bachelor’s degree from an approved four-year college, university, or equivalent certificate by February 2025

III. Admission Process

1. Document Screening: Applications are comprehensively evaluated based on academic transcripts (GPA), essays, letters of recommendation, as well as extracurricular activities including community service, awards, and other involvements.
2. English Proficiency Examination: Candidates who pass the first stage are required to take an English proficiency exam as part of the interview process.
3. Interview: Conducted in a ul-on-one format with three interviewers assessing one candidate at a time.

VI. Important Notes

1. All of the documents must be written in English. Non-English documents must be translated and notarized. Both the original document and the notarized English-translated document must be submitted.
2. An online Application Form should be filled out through Jinhak Apply (www.jinhakapply.com) and the printed and signed copy should be mailed.
3. Required essays should be written through Jinhak Apply (www.jinhakapply.com) and the printed and signed copy should be mailed. (Each essay must not exceed 500 words.)
4. At least one letter of recommendation should be from a teacher or work supervisor. (Letters written by family members or relatives will not be accepted.)
5. For letters of recommendation, the recommender’s direct email submission is available to lawschool@handong.edu.
6. University transcripts, diplomas, or certificate of pending graduation must be official, meaning a proper stamp, seal or signature must be affixed.
7. Applying for both General Admission and Special Admission is not permitted.
8. Submitted documents will not be returned.
9. Falsifying any information or plagiarism on essays may result in denial of your application.
10. The successful candidates should pay the admission confirmation fee during the designated period, or else, one’s admission can be canceled.
11. Interview schedule and; admission results will be announced via email.
12. All certificates should be issued no longer than 6 months.

VII. General Information

1. A complete application packet must be mailed to the following address by October 22, 2024; otherwise, your application may be denied. (Domestic mail postmarked by October 22, 2024 is acceptable but international mail must arrive by October 22, 2024)

3. Application Fee 100,000 KRW can be refunded upon the following reasons;

- In case of overpayment; in case of failure to apply for admission due to reasons attributable to the university; in case of failure to apply for admission due to natural disaster; in case of failure to apply for admission due to applicant’s medical issues such as illness or accident, or due to applicant’s death. (Only applicable if the relevant matter can be proved.)
- The Application Fee will be refunded to the bank account designated by the applicant. The cost required for wire transfer will be deducted from the amount to be refunded, and if the cost is more than the amount to be refunded, the fee may not be refunded.

4. Interview Schedule and Admission Result

- The interview and HILS English Proficiency Examination will be conducted in Handong International Law School. Detailed information will be announced individually via email.
- Admission result will be announced individually via email.
- Wait List Candidate(s): For those who have been waitlisted, additional acceptance announcements may occur, in order of your wait list number. Wait list candidates are numbered in order of top scorers.

VIII. Tuition Fee

2. During the Registration Period, only the Admission Confirmation Fee 900,000 KRW should be paid. The Tuition Fee payment period will be announced in February 2025.
