Ⅱ. Eligibility
To qualify for Special Admission, applicants must be non-Korean nationals with both parents also being non-Korean nationals, OR non-Korean nationals who have completed their elementary, middle, high school, and university education entirely outside of Korea. Also, they must possess a bachelor's degree from an approved four-year university or college or equivalent degree prior to commencing their studies at Handong International Law School.
(Korean citizens who hold dual citizenship are not eligible for Special Admission.)

Ⅲ. Admission Process
A complete application packet must be mailed to the following address and actually received (not mailed or postmarked) by October 22, 2024; otherwise, your application may be denied.

* All foreign candidates for admission who are not nationals of the following countries identified by the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs (the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and South Africa) must submit a valid minimum TOEFL score of 80 (IBT) or TEPS score of 297 or IELTS score of 5.5.

Ⅵ. Important Notes
- 1. All of the documents must be written in English. Non-English documents must be translated and notarized. Both the original document and the notarized English-translated document must be submitted.
- 2. All of the documents must be mailed to HILS. E-mails or facsimiles will not be accepted.
- 3. Falsifying any information or plagiarism on essays may result in denial of your application.
- 4. Applying for both General Admission and Special Admission is not permitted.
- 5. University transcripts, diplomas, or certificate of pending graduation must be official, meaning a proper stamp, seal, or signature must be affixed.
- 6. If University transcripts, diplomas, or certificate of pending graduation is not written in English, it needs to be translated into English and notarized by the Korean embassy/consulate. Then, both the original document and the notarized English translation must be submitted.
- 7. Each essays must not exceed 500 words.
- 8. At least one letter of recommendation should be from a teacher or work supervisor. (Letters written by family members or relatives will not be accepted.)
- 9. For letters of recommendation, the recommender’s direct email submission is available to lawschool@handong.edu.
- 10. Submitted documents will not be returned.
- 11. Non-Korean nationals may be subject to a health screening on arrival at HILS.
- 12. The successful candidates should pay the admission confirmation fee during the designated period, or else, one’s admission can be canceled.
- 13. Admission results will be announced via email.
- 14. All Chinese Applicants must submit their Family Register (戶口簿).
- 15. All certificates should be issued no longer than 6 months.
